Impact/Purpose:

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) National Homeland Security Research Center (NHSRC) Technology Testing and Evaluation Program (TTEP) helps to protect human health and the environment from adverse impacts of terrorist acts by carrying out performance tests on homeland security technologies. Tested were pH-amended bleach, pH-adjusted bleach, CASCAD Surface Decontamination Foam, Decon Green, EasyDECON, Spor-Klenz RTU, Peridox RTU. Materials tested were stainless steel, glass, aluminum, glazed porcelain, granite, concrete (cement), brick, asphalt paving, treated wood, and. butyl rubber.
